IoT Perception

Object Class

It picked up something it had never seen, on the first try.

Object Class doesn't follow instructions — it builds understanding. Inspired by how infants learn physics not from textbooks but from reaching, failing, and revising, Object Class constructs spatial models in real time. It doesn't need CAD files or pre-mapped environments. The surface layer that gives intelligence a body at the edge.

Capability Map

Object Class connects to: Autonomous Navigation, Object Manipulation, Disaster Response, Surgical Assistance.

Object Class's perception spans four capability domains.

What We Found

Assumptions we overturned

Robots need pre-mapped environments
→
Navigated a collapsed building with zero prior data — mapped 3 floors and located 12 simulated survivors in 40 minutes
Manipulation requires per-object programming
→
Learned to handle 14 product variants from zero demonstrations by building a physics model of each object in real time
Disaster response is too unstructured for autonomy
→
Assessed structural damage in an earthquake simulation faster than a 4-person engineering team, with 96% agreement
Precision tasks need rigid end-effectors
→
Sub-millimeter surgical assistance using compliant force control — adapting to tissue resistance 400 times per second
Unexpected Uses

We didn't see this coming

A glassblower

Object Class learned the fluid dynamics of molten glass by watching. Then it assisted with shapes the artisan couldn't hold steady enough to execute alone. The pieces are in a gallery in Copenhagen.

A paleontologist

Used Object Class's spatial reasoning to virtually reassemble a shattered Cretaceous skull — 340 fragments — that had defeated manual reconstruction for 12 years.

A choreographer

Taught Object Class a dance sequence. It improvised variations that respected the physical constraints of the human body while finding movements no human had tried. The piece premiered in Lyon.

“The robot didn't replace anyone. It made possible the thing we'd been imagining for twenty years but couldn't physically execute.”

— VP Operations, Advanced Manufacturing

In The Field

Real results

Logistics
96.2% autonomous navigation success rate in a 50,000 sq ft warehouse with constantly moving obstacles. No pre-mapped paths.
Disaster Response
3 floors mapped. 12 survivors located. 40 minutes. Zero human entry. Structural assessment matched a 4-person engineering team at 96% agreement.
Manufacturing
Learned to assemble 14 different product variants from zero demonstrations. Changeover time dropped from 3 days to 2 hours.
How It Connects

One architecture

Odyssey

Object Class receives intelligence from Odyssey. Perception powered by frontier AGI.
